Domain Transfer Out

Before applying to transfer a domain out, you need to:

Check Domain Eligibility

The following domains cannot be transferred out:

  • Registered for at least 60 days: Newly registered or most recently transferred domains must be at least 60 days old before they can be transferred out

  • Not locked: The domain is not in a Client Transfer Prohibited status

  • Not expired: We recommend initiating the transfer at least 15 days before the domain expiration date

  • No pending transactions: The domain is not currently in a NamesLink auction, sale, or Push process

  • No disputes: The domain is not in a UDRP dispute or legal hold status

Confirm Receiving Registrar Information

In advance, review the target registrar's transfer-in requirements to ensure:

  • The target registrar supports transfers for this extension

  • You have already created an account with the target registrar

  • You understand the target registrar's transfer fees and process

Transfer Out Steps

  1. In My Domains, select the domain you wish to transfer out, or go to the Domain Transfer Out menu and enter the domain you want to transfer, then click Next

  2. After submitting the transfer-out request, the system will send the transfer authorization code to your account email

  3. Submit the transfer authorization code at the registrar you are transferring to. The transfer usually completes within 5–7 days

  4. Expedited Transfer Out: For domains in a "transferring out" status, you can click Expedite Transfer Out. After completing identity verification, the system will send a confirmation email to your account. Follow the instructions in the email and click the link to complete the remaining steps and confirm the transfer

  5. Cancel Transfer Out: As long as the domain has not been fully transferred to the target registrar, you can stop the transfer by clicking Cancel Transfer Out on the page. If the domain has already been transferred to the target registrar, the transfer cannot be canceled.
