Auction Rules

Participating in domain name auctions on NamesLink requires compliance with the following rules:

  1. Bidding Period

The auction duration typically lasts 3-6 days.

At the start of the auction, the bidding period displayed on the page is 3 days. If any user places a bid within those 3 days, the auction duration will automatically be extended to 6 days.

Within the final 5 minutes of the auction, any new bid will extend the end time by 5 minutes. This repeats until no further bids are placed.

Due to price synchronization with external partner platforms, last-minute bids may fail. Early bidding or setting a proxy bid is recommended.

  1. Winning the Auction

The highest bidder wins the domain after the auction closes.

The winning amount is automatically deducted from the winner’s account balance.

If the balance is insufficient, the winner must replenish funds within 72 hours. After topping up: Manually pay for the "Pending Payment" domain, or the system automatically attempts daily deductions from the balance.

Failure to pay results in default: the bid deposit is forfeited.

  1. Domain Delivery

After payment, the domain enters the previous registrar’s Redemption Period (≈27 days).

If the previous holder does not redeem the domain, it is delivered to the winner.

Winners can obtain the transfer code via Domain Management > Domain Transfer Out to push/transfer the domain to another registrar.

Note: "Delivery" on NamesLink means the winner can manage the domain (transfer, renew, redeem). Until transferred, the domain is held in escrow by NamesLink at the original registrar.

To use the domain, please transfer it to another platform.

  1. Domain Redemption by Previous Holder

Auctioned domains may originate from partner "pre-release" platforms.

Domains require a Waiting Period (≈27 days) post-auction for delivery.

During the auction or Waiting Period, the previous holder may redeem the domain.

If redeemed: Delivery is canceled. The winning amount and deposit are refunded to the winner’s balance.

  1. Bid Deposit

A bid deposit (amount shown on the page) is required to participate.

For winners: The deposit is refunded upon full payment of the winning bid.

For winners who default: The deposit is forfeited.

For non-winners: Deposits are automatically refunded when the auction closes.

  1. Starting Price & Bid Increments

The starting price is set per domain (varies by domain; displayed on the page).

Bid increments depend on the current bid amount (displayed on the page).

Important Notices

  • Bids cannot be retracted. Proxy bids cannot be reduced or canceled once set. Bid cautiously.

  • Verify domain status via WHOIS and check for third-party blocks/firewalls before bidding. NamesLink assumes no liability for post-purchase issues (e.g., resolution failures due to penalties/blocks). No refunds apply.

  • Domains may originate from partner platforms/registrars. NamesLink assumes no liability for auction failures or undelivered domains caused by partners. Refunds apply in such cases.

  • Do not use won domains for illegal activities (e.g., fraud, phishing). Violations result in domain/account suspension and fund freezing.

  • NamesLink assumes no liability for bid failures due to force majeure.

  • Bidding constitutes agreement to NamesLink’s Auction Rules & User Agreement.
