FAQ
Where do auctioned domains originate?
Answer: Auctioned domains are either: Listed by sellers on our platform, or sourced from partner platforms.
How long do auctions last?
Answer: Auctions typically run for 3-6 days. Always refer to the displayed:
"Remaining Time"
"Auction End Time"
Note: Duration may change during bidding:
-
Auction ends immediately if the domain is redeemed by its previous holder.
-
Auction extends if a partner platform prolongs its listing period.
-
Within the final 5 minutes, any new bid extends the end time by 5 minutes (repeats until no further bids).
When is the domain delivered after winning?
Answer: After auction closure, a Waiting Period (typically 27 days) begins.
The domain is delivered to the winner after this period.
How to use the domain after delivery?
Answer: After delivery, the domain is available in your NamesLink account and can be managed directly.
To point the domain to a website or service, add DNS records in Domain Management > My Domains > Manage > DNS Records. NamesLink provides free DNS resolution for every domain.
Alternatively, you can transfer the domain to another registrar: go to Domain Transfer Out, obtain the transfer code, and complete the transfer at your preferred registrar/platform.
How are bid deposits refunded?
Answer: A bid deposit is held (frozen) from your balance when you bid.
After auction closes:
-
Non-winners: Deposit automatically released.
-
Winners: Deposit released after full payment of the winning bid.
During auction:
- You may exit bidding if you are not the highest bidder. Upon exit, deposit immediately released.
